Buffing & Polishing

Buffing and polishing that brings tired paint back to life

Machine polishing removes swirl marks, scratches, oxidation and fading, restoring depth and gloss to tired paint. Suitable for cars, caravans and trailer boats.

Paint correction, not just a shine

Most dull paint isn't worn out. It's covered in fine swirl marks from car washes and wiping, light scratches and a layer of oxidation that scatters the light. Machine buffing levels the surface so it reflects cleanly again, bringing back the depth and gloss the paint had when it was new.

We have machine buffed, polished and waxed more than 20,000 cars of all makes and models, so there isn't much we haven't seen. We choose the pad, compound and polish to suit your paint, and we finish with protection so the gloss lasts.

Ready for sale, or just for you

A proper polish is one of the best things you can do before selling a car, caravan or boat, and it's just as rewarding if you plan to keep it. Add a ceramic coating afterwards for years of protection.

Buffing & Polishing FAQs

Can buffing remove scratches?

Machine buffing removes swirl marks and light scratches that sit in the clear coat or gelcoat. Deeper scratches that go through to the primer can be improved but not fully removed, and Shiny Detailing will tell you honestly what to expect before we start.

What is the difference between buffing and polishing?

Buffing (compounding) uses a more abrasive product to cut away oxidation and scratches. Polishing then refines the surface to a high gloss. Most jobs use both, followed by a wax, sealant or ceramic coating for protection.
